After the magnificent Versailles by Night first launched in 2016 and a blossoming journey in its radiant gardens last year, Victoire de Castellane draws us into a behind the scene visit of Versailles secrets.

The final chapter of the triptych Versailles story reveals an unseen vision of what the legendary castle and gardens look like. Comprised of private corridors and concealed boudoirs, the royal passion that De Castellane translated into jewelry results into a fantastical intrigue that will remain hidden forever. A collection of 36 pieces including 22 rings.

There is no better inspirational set than Versailles for this high-end line of narrative and whimsical jewels infused with romanticism and lush. From secret mirrors to hidden drawers, each piece of jewelry reveals a little surprise that you cannot resist to discover. Some are engraved, other are kept secret inside the piece: it’s all the tiny details that make up the whole. Skull motifs are recurring in Dior’s jewelry collection: whether carved in into a mismatched pair of moonstone earring or in a pendant, the pattern is employed by Castellane as a special tribute to the ghosts of Versailles.

Dior creative director mesmerizes us with a high jewelry line of miniaturized treasury: an exquisite tanzanite bracelet becomes a charming secret timepiece whilst cocktail rings are turned into secret rings. For these one-of-a-kind rings, De Castellane used the rotating stone mechanism to conceal mirrors, skull or tiny compartments, like with the “Volupté” green beryl ring. If the colored gemstones are less vivid than the ones from the previous collection, they are also subtler. Victoire de Castellane said that she wanted to use chiaroscuro stones in shade of faded rose, red verging on purple, iridescent moonstones and more intense sky blues. A color palette that definitely embodies the royal mystery of Versailles.
