For her Princess wedding – Meghan Markle first adorned her Givenchy gown with Cartier and Garrard jewelry before pulling off late-Princess Diana’s Aquamarine as her something blue to highlight her Stella McCartney glamourous dress.
As we are all still recovering from this ever dream princess-like wedding where all our eyes were for the bride and her handsome prince, we can’t help but remembering the gorgeous jewels the new Duchess of Sussex has worn to walk down the aisle.
First, the tiara. To tie the knot to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle followed Kate’s Middleton’s footsteps and borrowed a wedding tiara from the royal vault. The bride chose a filigree diamond bandeau tiara set with a sparkling diamond center-stone for her wedding. The headpiece who was originally made for Queen Mary in 1932, hasn’t been seen since it was last worn by Princess Margaret in 1965. What a better welcoming to the Royal family?
We already knew that Meghan was a diamond lover as her engagement ring featured three diamonds: the larger one sourced in Botswana while the two smaller stones on the sides are from Prince Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana. In order to top off her accessories to complete her wedding look and to confirm her diamond crush she turned herself to the first French jeweler : Cartier! Indeed, the Duchess wore diamond studs earrings from the “Galenterie de Cartier” collection and a simple diamond bracelet set with lines of baguette-cut and brilliant-cut diamonds, both from the iconic French Jeweler Cartier.
On her way to her wedding reception, the modern princess wooed us again with an emerald-cut aquamarine ring to die for. Visible on her right hand, the ring that comes from Princess Diana’s personal collection, is nothing else but a touching tribute to the beloved mother of her new-beloved husband.
