She chose the lace pattern to be her brand DNA. A lace she designed her way. Anna Molinari established her eponymous label Atelier Molinari in 2015 shortly after graduating from Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design in London before furthering her knowledge at the Gemological Institute of America in New York.
Her ‘Lace’ collection embodies the fusion of feminine modernity. The clean lines and delicate honeycombed pattern are against any repetitive and geometrical motifs often found on the walls of an India’s forgotten palace or in the backyard of a romantic Moroccan’s riad. Taking her inspiration from the rich cultural influence of the Far East… her use of various shades of yellow gold in lace designs, diamonds and colored precious stones makes it stand out.
A tour through her collection is like taking a long idyllic and exotic voyage, capturing inspirations from all possible elements. Similar to an imaginary shadow cast by the afternoon sun where a poetic and continuous pattern intersect at different angles to form earrings, rings, studs or a necklace. The intricate details of the making of the pieces are obvious translated into the impeccable craftsmanship, painstakingly polished by hand to create absolute symmetrical cuts on the metal. Small diamonds of the highest grade are carefully chosen and closely set to allow a maximum of light to pass through, optimizing the potential of each stone.
Benefiting from her experience at the Gem Palace in Jaipur combined to her experience at Marie-Hélène de Taillac and Delfina Delettrez, Anna Molinari is fond of multi-colored gemstones. She combines effortlessly rubies, sapphires, tourmalines and diamonds to imitate the natural beauty of our surroundings representing the blazing sun, the deep turquoise of the oceans, some clear blue morning skies or blooming flowers in the Spring. A simple sophistication forecasting her motto, “It’s in the hidden details that we find beauty!” So be it.
