What fuels collaboration between a world-famous architect and a jewelry brand?

For Caspita, it could be a shared passion for architecture and nature. Founder of the brand Arlène Bonnant happens to be a jewelry designer and an expert in contemporary art who has been a long-time admirer of the London-based late-architect Zaha Hadid. « Zaha’s architectural realizations have always evoked to me the work of time and of elements on matter » confessed Caspita’s creative director.

Entitled SKEIN, the collection is inspired by cellular structures found in nature. Bonnant offers the piece in four types of gold : black, white, yellow and pink gold where the SKEIN collection includes finely crafted rings and a large cuff either in plain gold or paved with diamonds set into sections of the lattice. These multi-facetted and 3-D pieces are a delicate mesh piece of jewelry imprinting the finger and the wrist in lightness and subtlety.

Combining innovate design technologies with the highest level of craftsmanship, these sculptural creations express new possibilities for working to the finest detail in gold. Zaha Hadid’s limited edition for Caspita stay true to her characteristic style – based on proportions and absolutely unique asymmetries – while intensifying the brand’s aphorism « See the invisible ».

Partnership can also be a way to join forces to challenge a timeless icon.

When Bvlgari first introduced the B. Zero1 ring in 1999, the Italian Brand broke away from convention to introduce a new classic. Inspired by the Coliseum, the ring featured several bands, stacked one over other and a double logo that immediately charmed the jewelry and design enthusiasts.

Reimagined by Zaha Hadid, the new B. Zero1 ring marries Bvlgari’s bold, geometric style with her fluid design language.

In this new version, the iconic central looping band is removed and the two flats bands are now connected by undulating lines of gold that intersect to create delicate filigree around its circumference. During the Salone del Mobile in Milan in 2015, Hadid had already partnered with the Italian brand to design the Serpenti installation at the Bulgari Hotel, an ode to the jewelry house’s Serpenti collection.

Breathing its design genius into the Roman Jeweler’s most iconic collection, collaboration with Zaha Hadid will definitely mark a chapter in Bulgari’s story.
