Charlotte Chesnais

Mixing graphic and fluid lines, with her sculptural creations Charlotte Chesnais brings a fresh perspective to the jewelry world.

Freshly graduated from the Studio Berçot, Charlotte Chesnais first joined Vincent Darré, the former creative director of Ungaro, before working for more than 10 years at Balenciaga. Alongside Nicolas Ghesquière, she worked on the ready-to-wear collections and piloted the launch of Balenciaga’s jewelry line. From her mentor she admires, the Paris-based designer learned to push the boundaries even further and paid a lot of attention to details.

If she still collaborates as a stylist and designer with high fashion brands, such as Mayiet and Paco Rabanne, it made sense for the 30-year-old designer to go solo. Charlotte Chesnais launches in 2015, her own eponymous brand and her Debut collection won at first glance fashion editors and international buyers. Rewarded by the prestigious ANDAM Fashion accessories prize, Charlotte Chesnais features sculptural, organic forms that wrap around the body in such a sensually way.

The fluidity of her jewelry offers a unique sense of movement whilst remaining minimal. Inspired by the sculptures of Jean Arps as well as Matisse’s collages, Charlotte Chesnais challenges the jewelry norm with her creations.

Her architectural collection of cuffs, earrings and rings is handmade in France by the best ateliers and are available in silver and vermeil.

As a challenge to herself, she presents the Fall 2016 collection incorporating precious stones like diamonds, sapphires, and topazes set on her pieces of jewelry. These new materials add sparkle and an even more precious feel to the Saturn earrings or the multi-hoop earrings which have become a mainstay.

Highly desirable by fashionistas and editors around the world, her jewelry pieces can sometimes leave us a bit confused for a while on how to place the voluminous shape before making us falling in love with the way they wrap elegantly around wrists, fingers and ears.
