In their adventure to promote new talents, the Italian luxury brand Salvatore Ferragamo collaborated with LA-based jewelry designer Daniela Villegas for a capsule collection around wild birds set in silver with semi precious stones. A limited edition is also availble in gold with diamonds.
Daniela Villegas is jewelry designer based in Los Angeles who launched her eponymous brand in 2008. She loves colors, has a devoted passion for nature, often includes natural elements in her jewelry and her Mexican roots probably help her in the process of creature beeing surrounded by such a rich latin American culture.
When talking about the collaboration with Salvatore Ferragamo, it made total sense for the jewelry designer to work along the Italian luxury team. It seems to be a logical dream that happened: “In the natural trajectory of progression, nature always provides a soothing and joyful dose to cope with the wear and tear that comes with evolution. Having the opportunity to work on this collection with a brand like Ferragamo has been a dream come true for me.”
The Wild Bird Jewelry capsule collection comprises of a full set of pieces including a necklace, earrings, rings and a bracelet mounted on silver with green topaz and purple amethysts. A limited edition offers a version in gold and diamonds.
Working closely with Massimiliano Giornetti, Creative Director at Ferragamo- Daniela Villegas explored with her own freedom of creativity how parakeets, parrots and birds of paradise could fly from their jewelry cage adorned with the Ferragamo signature, the Gancio emblem.
“Daniela is an exceptional and visionary artist and a very dear friend of mine who is able to transmit lyrical poetry and a sort of sophisticated fairy tale” says Massimiliano Giornetti, Creative Director at Ferragamo, “I am more than pleased that the collaboration between Salvatore Ferragamo and this extraordinary artist continues. What I appreciate most about her work is that she manages to combine extreme simplicity of forms, pure design and essential lines with fantastic aesthetic concepts”.
