With Dior et Moi, once again Victoire de Castellane invites exceptional stones and semi-precious gems to interact in a daring high jewelry collection, where the emblematic “toi et moi” form reigns supreme. Overview of our favorite pieces.
The deliciously-mischievous and up-to-the-minute Maison Dior delight with this flamboyant new line. Thirty-nine creations, a host of refreshing duos infusing the traditional form of jewelry pieces with feeling, also known as “Toi & Moi”, a highly-welcoming update.
Irrespective of the shape of the piece – between-finger rings, bangles, earrings – matches are created on feeling, on a crush. A pink sapphire falls in love with a pink opal, an emerald unites with malachite, whilst a diamond hooks up with pink lacquer. These charming duos are enhanced by more explosive trios and even quartets, like this pair of Tribales earrings mixing sapphire, turquoise, pink sapphires, white cultured pearl and green lacquer; or this double ring with its deceptively-monochrome look, composed of diamonds, pearl, white opal and pink lacquer. Like an orchestra conductor, Victoire de Castellane plays on proportions to create surprise, like with this necklace boasting a white XXL opal.
Lacquer, newcomer this season, embraces brushed gold to highlight the contours of a stone or to emphasize its sparkle. This lacquer, proposed in fifteen unprecedented colors, infuses the collection with communicative energy. The eye fascinated by this ballet of colors, almost forgets that, at Dior, everything (also) hinges on details. Each piece, inspired by secret jewelry, was fashioned on both sides. Although the stones take centerstage, the geometric designs are subtly unveiled for anyone curious enough to turn the piece over. Catch my drift?
