The French Riviera sets the scene for FRED’s second sojourn following Japan. Let’s head to Monaco to explore the sun-kissed jewellery in the Ombre Féline collection.
Monaco, 1976, the opening night of the FRED boutique in Monaco. The atmosphere is electric when suddenly, everyone is bewitched by Princess Grace’s radiant personality. The Princess was there to open the brand’s new shop and was wearing a feline-inspired ring designed especially for her by the jeweller Fred Samuel. A double tribute to the designer and the start of the long history with the Rock.
In tribute to this magical evening, Valérie Samuel, the jewellery designer’s granddaughter and artistic director of FRED, has redesigned this iconic piece in a collection of ten jewellery items. The central theme? showcase the character of the original jewellery depicting two cat’s paws nonchalantly laid on top of one another.
The Ombre Féline ring is glazed in black lacquer and seamlessly wraps around the skin like a tattoo. Its diamond-covered pendant is a welcome ray of light on the skin. Statement pieces that look as good with an evening dress as with jeans and a white t-shirt.
We love the fine jewellery version with 4 heavenly feline pieces with black spinel-spotted diamond fur. The cherry on the cake is that the ring, earrings, bracelet and choker all glitter with a dazzling pear diamond in a nod to the woman who inspired them.
