5 art deco style rings to give or get as a gift for the holidays

If the aesthetic codes of the art deco movement are so appealing, it is because they are unique in giving jewelry a real personality, without forgetting to be timeless. The proof is in the pictures with a selection of the most beautiful art deco rings reinterpreted by the young guard of jewelry designers.

Feelings ring – Nikos Koulis

From the Feelings collection, for which the Greek designer Nikos Koulis won the Couture Design Award in 2019, this ring embodies the sensual marriage of gold and diamonds, enhanced with references to the art deco movement. We love the combination of these two rings – one in yellow gold, the other in white gold set with diamonds – held by a precious black lacquer ring. A play of contrasts that highlights the designer’s graphic composition.

Gemma Ring, Selim Mouzannar

The Lebanese designer, known for his jewelry creations that give pride of place to coloured stones and enamel work, demonstrates once again his perfect mastery of this art with the Gemma ring. Decorated with a masterful morganite, the pink gold ring punctuated with a midnight blue enamel thread revisits the art deco style with an elegance dear to the designer.

Signet ring, Alice Cicolini

A graduate of Central St Martins, the former Director of Arts and Culture of the British Council in India is passionate about the craft and tradition of enamel work. Handmade in the UK, Alice Cicolini’s jewelry fuses her passion for design with her inspiration from the sacred motifs of the Silk Road. We love the vibrant and luminous chromatic palette that she greedily deploys in her creations, as in this ring whose motifs echo the peaks of Uzbek temples, richly decorated with tiles. The translucent blue of aquamarine is here enhanced by a succession of surrounds ranging from gold to white and a delicate shades of grey. A ring like an invitation to travel.

 Couture Princesse Ring, Place Vendôme

Place Vendôme, a Mecca for French jewelry know-how, inspired the Parisian jewellery house to create this sculptural ring with chiseled lines. While the design of the setting evokes the octagonal shape of the square, the brilliant-cut diamond placed in its centre pays homage to the famous column that dominates it. We love the contrast of the baguette diamond paving which sublimates the design of this jewel thought as a piece of art.

Bespoke Ring, Jenny Dee Jewelry

From her collection of made-to-measure rings for brides-to-be, this model is a nod to the art deco style, twisted just right by designer Jenny Dabbah. Round diamonds and baguette-cut rubies are all on familiar terms in this graphic model that we can imagine straight out of Gatsby’s novel The Magnificent.
