Spotted in Las Vegas during the last Couture show, the Aria earring designed by Melissa Kaye is the epitome of simplicity, modernity and originality.
As a jewelry designer, Melissa Kaye’s background is anything but typical. Melissa got her undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Engineering at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and a Computational Finance graduate degree from Carnegie Mellon. She then spent the next 10 years in the finance world at Goldman Sachs. Looking for a change, Melissa went back to her lifelong passion for jewelry, by going to FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology). After FIT, she started working on her own line, which she unveiled in 2014.
What’s interesting about it?
Melissa likes to create chic jewelry, items that you’ll love both now and in 20 years. Given her background in mathematics, Melissa has a keen interest in geometric and natural patterns. Functionality is an important part to her pieces, not an afterthought. Melissa enjoys making pieces that can be transformed, those that can be worn in multiple ways. The Aria earring is the definition of it!
Why did we choose it?
Her Aria earrings come in full pavé, semi-pavé and plain 18 carat yellow gold. Each earring has soft curve at the top, with the line cascading down at an angle, into another much larger curve. You can wear this earring straight up, or at an angle following your ear lop. These earrings are classic, but with just the right amount of personality. You’ll want to wear them with a white tee shirt and jeans or an evening outfit!
