Why did we choose it?
In their newest collection, Butterfly Lovers, we don’t see the invisible setting, but instead a
channel setting of diamonds, rubies and sapphires. This collection is based on the Chinese
legend of the ‘Butterfly Lovers,’ which tells the story of two star crossed lovers. The two
butterflies in this collection represent each lover. In this specific Butterfly Necklace we see two
butterflies, one smaller than the other. The butterflies are separated by your neck, being
placed at different angles. There is no way for them to get together, much like their ill fated
love.
What’s interesting about it ?
The necklace drapes down your neck in a delicate asymmetrical fashion. Shimmering
diamonds are balanced with either rich blue sapphires or rubies in an invisible setting. The
flexible necklace allows the piece to move, emulating the flight of butterflies themself. While
this piece is certainly of high jewelry quality, the color palette, flexibility and whimsical motif
help to make the argument for a more daily wearability!
