The baguette diamond has often been a centerstone with Suzanne Kalan’s pieces of jewelry. She has always loved the cut, but wanted to see how far she could push the boundaries with these stones that were most often used as side stones. The result is an innovative, ‘controlled chaos’ as she calls it. The Fireworks collection took the jewelry world by storm, being copied at many levels of the industry. This collection is full of diamonds, emeralds and sapphires, all cut in the traditional baguette shape. But there is nothing traditional about the way Suzanne sets these stones. Tilted and clustered in a seemingly random way, these earrings, pendants, bracelets and rings come together in a unique collection that will stay relevant for years.

Continuing her desire to be progressive, Suzanne developed the Vitrine collection. Suzanne custom cut gemstones to have both a flat top and bottom, allowing you to see through the piece. This creates a window effect, allowing for diamonds set below the gemstone to be seen. The vitrine concept provides for a new and interesting way to look at gemstones, both at them and through them.

In 2012, Suzanne and Paul’s daughter Patile Kalandjian joined the company. Like her mother, Patile has a creative streak. Her KALAN collection brings brightly colored semi-precious gemstones into the mix. These pieces fit well into the Suzanne Kalan brand by being classic, yet still unique. Clusters utilize the firework pattern, while complimenting colored gemstones are put together to support an affordable yet extremely wearable collection she sets with 14 ct. gold.

Suzanne Kalan has a wide audience, from her homebase in Los Angeles, California to international lovers in the Middle East. From celebrities such as Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Jennifer Anniston to the many awards she has received, it is clear that she understands what women want and beautifully creates classic yet dramatic pieces of jewelry for us all to enjoy!
