The Hublot Big Bang has never been seen as much as it has these past few years. Hublot celebrated last year the 10th anniversary of the iconic model once made for men. Overtime, the Swiss manufacturer managed to think, create and imagine variations of the Big Bang brought to a whole new level: women. How did they manage to take a masculine timepiece and transform it into a feminine watch?
Creating the finest watches and wall-clocks since 1980, Hublot has redefined the “Art of Fusion” philosophy in the luxury industry. It is now moving forward to create the future launching multiple variations of the legendary watch exclusively for women. Multi-colored dial, bold materials, daring styles and colors, and gem-setting work prove them right.
Baselworld 2016 showed the ability Hublot had to adapt the market considering the prize they won at the last Grand Prix de l’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG 2015) for the best Ladies’ Watch. Along with the launch of the unique Hublot Impact Bang set with more than 30 carats of diamonds, we were able to discover new additions in the lines of Big Bang Caviar, the Pop Art, the Sugar Skull, or the Tutti Frutti including the launch of the Linen line for the summer.
Daring, bright and strikingly colorful – the Big Bang Pop Art collection draws inspiration from the iconic Pop Art movement of the 1950s and the 1960s, becoming a horological canvas for artistic expression. Bringing the worlds of watchmaking and modern art together proves to be a fruitful endeavour as the end result is a collection that resembles as if legendary Andy Warhol himself has reinterpreted Hublot’s signature Big Bang line. The Big Bang Pop Art combines a number of materials – from the standard steel to the more unusual for Hublot – yellow gold case to fully capture the retro spirit of the Pop Art movement. The playful colors of the dial are accentuated by the bezels, which are skilfully set with baguette cut precious and semi-precious stones: blue topaz, purple amethyst, pink sapphire and green tsavorite.
In the face of Big Bang Sugar Skull – a new icon is born. The unrivalled power of fusion breaks established codes and has over time demonstrated its ability to create exclusivity. The Big Bang 41mm Broderie Sugar Skull is a testament to this, blending femininity and innovation at its very peak. Haute-couture meets the fine traditions of horology in this bespoke composition of composite resin, carbon and ceramic, alongside denim. Turquoise, navy blue, pale pink, fuchsia, yellow, orange, violet are transposed into the art of fusion via the craft of embroidery to reveal all of its modernity and creative potential for the Big Bang Broderie Sugar Skull.
Finally, Hublot releases a burst of color in the face of its classic and uncomplicated Tutti Frutti and Tutti Frutti Linen collections. After incorporating lace and denim into its remarkable models, it’s time for the more unusual choice of linen. Classic and uncomplicated, yet unbelievably original and cutting-edge, the new Tutti Frutti line gets a revamp with the presence of the fine material on the strap, case and dial. Light yet strong, it is a beautiful symbol of elegance and creative superiority. Available in four radiant colors – Ocean Blue, Turquoise, Purple and Orange – the new collection is delightfully charming, full of personality and innovative. A unique weaving process together with blue or orange sapphires, topazes and amethysts on the bezel and dial ensures the watches are the perfect balance of fine horological traditions and a bold fashion statement.
The limited-edition models debuted by Hublot are yet another example of Hublot’s superior horological expertise that is being juxtaposed to a state-of-the-art precision and creative execution. As the world awaits with bathed breath every revelation of the famed Maison, one thing can be certain – it will be another veritable fusion between the traditional and the cutting-edge in a never-ending line of unconventional, bold and trend-setting pieces that balance on the verge of Swiss horology and modern haute couture.
