Winter isn’t over yet and The Eye of Jewelry has made the most of the last snowflakes to venture between the fir trees with the new stirrup chronograph by Ralph Lauren whose interchangeable strap makes everyone’s lives easier.
No matter how long it lasts, winter is always too long and every year the season seems to go on a little longer despite alarming global warming. This year is no exception with temperatures dropping to minus figures in early April and some regions seeing snowfall covering the cars whose winter tires had just been put back in storage.
We made the most of the chill to head uphill and perfect mid-season style among the snowflakes. When you talk about style you think about the master in the domain, Ralph Lauren. The ready-to-wear genius knows everything about fits and fabrics and has gone so far as to design his own watch collection.
The stirrup for women has become a signature in the RL collection and is now a style icon. It comes in a range of sizes and this large version comes on the new interchangeable strap that was unveiled in late January. This Stirrup chronograph is in steel but is also available in rose gold. The Roman numerals mark the hours whilst the Arabic minute numerals peek out between the tracks on the edges of the dial and are both printed black on the white lacquer dial.
The first pusher above the crown starts the chronograph and the second resets it. Aside from the diamonds that may appear on the case, what sets some of the Ralph Lauren Stirrup sizes and models apart is the movement. The chronograph version has a manual wind mechanical movement with the RL750 caliber whilst the others have a quartz movement.
It sort of makes sense to bring out a jewelry range alongside the watches. The silver chunky chain bracelet should be worn on its own on the other wrist, is extremely flexible and light despite appearances and looks as good at night as in the day, indoors or outdoors. And just there, you become a Ralph Lauren icon just by adorning your wrists.
