With its rainbow-coloured reflections, the new watchmaking creation from the Jacob & Co label is a happy omen that invites us to celebrate the return of spring. Perfect timing at the end of the forties.
A symbol of optimism and serenity, the rainbow’s chromatic palette inspired the New York jeweller to create a breathtaking bucolic merry-go-round. If the watch tells the time, through a fixed dial that keeps the position 12/6 o’clock, that’s not the show. All the interest of this timepiece, designed for women, lies in the articulation of the different elements of this fantastic garden.
The eye is first caught by a flying tourbillon adorned with a delicate 18-carat pink gold butterfly, a masterpiece of goldsmithing that is the pride of the brand. As for the mother-of-pearl dial, it features a ballet of stars studded with multicoloured sapphires in the shape of a kite. Some of them are mobile, but move in an anti-clockwise direction. The highlight of this millimetre-sized ballet is a central flower with a 288-faceted green tsavorite whose precious petals bloom in majesty.
No detail has been left to chance to perfect this novelty, between the 40 rainbow sapphires adorning the rose gold bezel with its butterfly-shaped clasp, also set with gems from the same colour palette. The lucky owners of this little jewel limited to 101 pieces will no longer need to look beyond their wrist to indulge in a treasure hunt. For others, there is still the sky to admire.
