Belles Montres 2014, Paris

Watch fairs mostly attract men with technical pieces, horological prowesses and skyrocking prices. What if we put aside the technique for once and leave it up to emotions: aesthetics, style and shape. Let the women speak for once!

Bouquet d’Ailes by Boucheron, an ode to femininity.
From the collection Ajouree, Bouquet d’ailes is a limited edition of 26 pieces, a tribute to the iconic Parisian addess 26 place Vendôme. The Bouquet d’Ailes has a quartz movement with a white mother-of-pearl dial. The open work of diamonds on the wrist let a diamond butterfly and a dragonfly with diamond wings shape the case of the watch. Fully paved with a satin bracelet, a delicate interpretation of Boucheron’s signature bestiary.

Stirrup Chain Link by Ralph Lauren, an interesting piece worth checking out.
Well-known for it fashion style rather than horological prowesses, Ralph Lauren came up with a surprising piece: the Stirrup Chain Link watch with snowfall diamond setting on the bezel, a mother of pearl dial, and a stainless steel chain bracelet. A surprising light weight watch, a super pretty diamond rendering topped with a super price!
(~ 4’500 Euros)
RM07-01 by Richard Mille, when women equal men.
When you think: Richard Mille, you think: sports cars and cigars coupled with a hundred of complicated references as complicated as the variety of RM-pieces.
Keeping the iconic barrel case – and what made Richard Mille who he is- he made an evolution of the existing feminine reference RM07 adding -01 to the end.
The RM07-01 with flying indexes, a squeleton automatic sapphire movement, a diamond-paved dial and semi-paved case in black ceramic case. An elegant piece where aesthetics takes over mechanics.
(~ 83’000 Euros)
Fireworks by Girard Perregaux celebrates the Cat’s Eye 10th Anniversary.
Girard Perregaux has been seducing women for the past 10 years with the Cat’s Eye oval case perfectly proportionate and specifically made for women.
The sapphire glass tops the grey gold case with an onyx dial. A mechanical watch with automatic winding doted of an in-house movement and a 46 hours power-reserve. 62 diamonds surround the bezel and 73 inside the black dial shape the fireworks on golden branches with a vivid contrast.
