The Rainbow Daytona made in everose gold and set with multi-colored baguette sapphires was the ultimate Rolex to spot this year. Rarity ? Eccentricity ? Modernity ? Rolex says it all.
Why did we choose it?
There is nothing more classic yet extravagant at the same time than a Rolex watch. In 1963 Rolex created the first Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona watch and it has since become an icon. Over the years they have made many versions, one of which includes a vibrant rainbow of gems. These rainbow watches were first introduced in 2012 and are comprised of 11 long baguette cut sapphires to mark each hour as well as 36 square cut baguette sapphires surrounding the dial. The colors graduate in a perfect rainbow pattern. These whimsical watches help Rolex to not just be an elegant watch to wear, but also a fun one!
What is interesting about it?
This year at Baselworld Rolex released the third and perhaps most interesting iteration of this rainbow Daytona, one with a new metal type: 18kt Everose gold. This rose gold alloy was developed by Rolex with the unique ability to resist fading. The chronograph counters are crafted in a special pink Gold Crystals. This material was developed by Rolex in order to create an exceptional shimmering effect!
This new version is bound to be as popular as the previous white and yellow gold versions, which flew off the shelves! The Everose gold provides an extra pop of color to the already colorful gemset. Be sure to snag your Everose gold rainbow Daytona before they sell out as there are a limited number in production.
